APC, PDP Lack Capacity  to Bring Devt to Southern Kaduna-SDP Senatorial Candidate Rijo Shekari

The Social Democratic Party(SDP) candidate running for Kaduna South Senatorial District in the Senate, Hon. Rijo Shekari said  has said that he is the best candidate for 2019 election.

Shekari stated this in an interview with a media team from the office of the National Publicity Secretary(NPS) of the SDP, during the flag-off of his campaign at the Kafanchan Old Township stadium in Jamaa Location Government Area, Southern-Kaduna.

He said his counterparts in the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) among other parties, lacked the capacity to drive development to the people.

He said based on his exposure, experiences and education background, he has all it takes to bring development to the people.

In view of the above, he therefore, solicited for the overwhelming votes of the Southern-Kaduna people for him to rally drastic socio-economic transformation to the zone.

According to him, the only solution to the alarming insecurity across the country is border control which is one of his key agenda as it portends a serious problem in his zone.

Shekari noted that Nigeria borders are so porous that it allows foreigners from different country into different parts of the country unchecked.

He said the people of his constituency have been victims of killer herdsmen believed to be fallout of the porous border which often result to wanton destruction of many lives and property.

“Government has claimed that this killings is by foreigners. One of my objectives is to promote legislations that will ensure that our borders are secured and safe,” he said, adding, he his election will and experience will place in the position to push for bills on security for safety of the people.

While lamenting the series of herdsmen attacks that have claim many lives in his zone, he remarked: “Some of the victims and their children have been displaced from their ancestral lands. I will do my best to make sure that they go back to their ancestral lands and whatever is due to them are accorded to them.”

The SDP Senatorial Candidate listed other critical areas of his focus when elected, as justice, poverty eradication, industry and innovation as well as community development.

“In terms of community development, I do not believe that in 2018, women should die when they are giving birth. I will ensure that in every primary health service centres, there is at least a midwife or nurse that will attend to women when they are pregnant and when they are giving birth. This will be my own personal sacrifice and it is from my own resources.

“We will not always wait for the government. We will work with tribal associations to ensure that our youths form cooperatives to produce cash crops like ginger and cashew for export. We have the climate and soil. The resources are there. I will make sure they access funds from the Central Bank and Nexim to ensure that our people get their own fair share of fundings.

“I have no doubt that my opponents whether in APC or PDP are richer, but the question is that, do they have the capacity to bring modern development to our people? That is why I have come to ensure that my generation is not left behind. Nigeria and the world is advancing and I have taken it upon myself that Southern Kaduna women, youths and even our elders living in the villages or cities get whatever is due to them,” he said.
